I’m a writer & editor based in Livingston, Montana.
Let’s hash the rest out in bullet points…
My first job was at Nylon magazine, where I worked for seven years (that’s seventy-something issues), ultimately as Senior Editor, covering mostly culture and entertainment.
After that, I worked at Hearst, where I co-founded Sweet, an experimental digital culture magazine published daily on Snapchat. (If you’re not familiar, ask a trusted teen.) Our tagline was “love something new every day.”
During my time as EIC, Sweet was nominated for a Webby for Best Editorial in Mobile Sites & Apps, plus two Hearst Excellence Awards for Digital Innovation and Best Use of Social Media.
Following Sweet, I was the executive editor at Man Repeller and worked on other creative writing projects, like the short-story-turned-screenplay for Princess Rita, which has won a handful of awards and was part of a screening series at MoMA. I’ve also done a few different stints at Cosmopolitan (filling in for the Executive Editor and Fashion Editor, namely).
I’ve written for publications including The New Yorker, Elle, The Cut, Cosmopolitan, i-D, and CR Fashion Book.
Currently, I’m working on personal projects and editing individual writers, most of whom are publishing on Substack. Brave new world! Personally, I love it.
Occasionally I take on advertising/branding assignments when the right thing comes along.
